A Good Day in RVA Returns to Hardywood

Living up to its name for a fourth year, A Good Day in RVA Festival IV: The Fourthcoming celebrated local music and arts in style at Hardywood Park Craft Brewery.

The free festival, hosted yearly to benefit film collective Good Day RVA, boasted a stacked lineup featuring Gull, Anousheh, Magnus Lush, Wester Green, Dharma Bombs, Opin, Positive No, VV, Blush Face, Fat Spirit, The Milkstains, Majjin Boo, The You Go Girls and McKinley Dixon and Friends.

In keeping with the past two years, Good Day and Dust Up member Craig Zirpolo created a montage video recapping the day from building the stages through the very last note of McKinley Dixon’s headlining set.

But this year we have a special addition to the recap video in the form of the premiere of Blush Face‘s first single, “Eat My Blues,” from their upcoming LP What Do You Want? coming out later this month.

And there’s more!

Though Good Day has hosted a number of video premiere events at Hardywood over the years, they debuted new material at the festival for the first time this year. After a frenzy of filming over the past few months, the volunteer film collective created a teaser trailer for their upcoming videos with Spooky Cool, The Wimps, Sports Bar, Doll Baby and Tiny Hazard. We are beyond excited to host the digital premiere of the trailer, linked below.

And since good things come in threes…

While its no secret that the folks at Dust Up are unabashedly huge fans of Good Day RVA’s work, we have teamed up with them to create our first physical release: a cassette tape compilation of the first 12 Good Day RVA sessions with artwork designed by GDRVA co-founder Chris Damon.

Check out the track listing below, and stay tuned for more information about the release over the coming weeks.
